Cornwall Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) has this week published “Remote Access”, a report which raises awareness of issues affecting rural Cornwall.
Graham Tierney, Chief Executive of CAB Cornwall explains: “All too often people living in urban locations assume that those in rural areas have the same easy access to services as they themselves do. When problems are identified, it is simple to presume that people live in the countryside by choice and so must accept the consequences of that decision. In fact many rural dwellers live where they do because this is where they can find accommodation suiting their limited budgets. Such people depend on public transport which is all too often infrequent, unreliable, relatively expensive or non-existent. This report identifies issues and highlights some of the problems positioning and presenting them in a format understandable to urban eyes.”
